Why canceled 'BTS Map of the Soul Tour'? Covid19? pandemic

One of the biggest groups in K-pop music BTS's Map of the Soul Tour has canceled completely.

Boy band BTS(Jin, RM, SUGA, j-hope, V, jimin, Jungkook)’s planned world tour “BTS Map of the Soul Tour,” which had been on hold for over a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has been canceled completely, according to Big Hit Music on Friday.

“We have strived to live up to fans’ prolonged waiting and expectations that we would resume the concerts, but due to many changes beyond our control, it has become realistically difficult to resume the concert as originally planned,” said Big Hit Music on Friday via a notification on the fan community platform Weverse.

"BTS Map of the Soul Tour" was originally set to kick off after BTS(Jin, RM, SUGA, j-hope, V, jimin, Jungkook) released its fourth full-length album “Map of the Soul: 7” in February 2020. The plan was to start with a Seoul concert in April of 2020 and tour a total of 18 cities spanning the United States, Canada, Japan, Britain, Germany and Spain.

However, the agency announced in April last year that the tour was suspended due to the outbreak of the pandemic. The Seoul concert was canceled, and other cities had been postponed.
 
“We are deeply sorry to notify you of a complete cancellation,” the agency said. “We apologize again to those who have been waiting for the tour to resume."
 
Bit Hit Music added that it is making more viable concert plans for the future and will announce them as soon as possible.

 

BTS(Jin, RM, SUGA, j-hope, V, jimin, Jungkook) held online concerts through "Bang Bang Concert the Live" in June last year and "BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E" in October last year when it was unable to hold offline concerts due to the influence of Corona 19.
